A Seeker Inclusive Community
Redwood Park Church has come to recognize that it has been called of God for a very specific ministry. This ministry is to reach people in our city who are without a life-giving relationship to Christ, who for the most part are unfamiliar with a traditional evangelical church setting, and to lead them to faith and full devotion to Christ. This has meant adjusting the way we do church from simply meeting the needs of those who already believe, to developing worship services and ministries that are sensitive and inclusive of those who do not yet know Christ. This has included becoming clearly contemporary and relevant in our communication and worship styles. For some, this has meant sacrificing comfortable evangelical traditions for the sake of prioritizing the needs of the lost.
At Redwood Park, we take a seeker inclusive approach to ministry by providing a comfortable, non-threatening, accepting environment, where people are given the opportunity to hear the Gospel in a variety of contemporary, creative styles, empowered by the dynamic presence of the Holy Spirit.
Further, we have come to increasingly value being a Christ-centred caring community where authentic relationships can thrive through life groups, mentoring relationships and spiritual friendships. We are striving to create an environment where people are safe to be real, encouraged on their spiritual journey and challenged to extend the kingdom of God, because all people matter to God. Growth is further encouraged by a variety of teaching opportunities, seminars and support groups with the goal of leading people to live missionally for the glory of God.
